There were two phases of this pond:
Phase 1) Dug a shallow hole, threw in a cheapy Home Depot pond liner and pump. Found out shortly after that large dogs love ponds – especially if there are fish!
Phase 2) Removed the tattered liner, dug the hole MUCH deeper, laid rebar grid and built a bigger waterfall with PVC plumbing and installed a real (Beckett) pump. Rocks were fixed in place with mortar to prevent future dog-related incidents. The pond’s concrete was sealed with Gacoflex – there are other less expensive ways to seal a pond – see “Mom’s Pond”
Note – To get rid of the algae in the water, I should have installed an in-line UV light. Helps to see the fish.
